Mark X (130 series) cabin air filter replacement method

I had the opportunity to test drive the Mark X the other day, but this time I would like to introduce how to replace the cabin air filter.
It’s been a while since the “Mark” series ended with this Mark X, but there are still opportunities to see it running.
Production of the Mark X has been discontinued as the world’s trend toward sedans is fading away, but when sedans become popular again, it is possible that they will be reprinted.
Even SUVs, which are popular now, weren’t popular until a few years ago.
No one can predict when and how the world will change.

Now, let’s get down to business.

remove the damper

Some good cars have a rod-shaped part called a damper next to the glove box that supports the glove box.
Pull it to the left to remove it from the glove box.
If it becomes hard and difficult to remove, do not apply force and pull to the left while holding the tip of the damper.
It’s a good idea to remove it while wearing work gloves to prevent injury.

remove glove box

Hold the left and right sides of the glove box and push them inwards to release the glove box catches.
It is easy to remove if you push it inward with a feeling of raising it comfortably.

pull out the filter case

Remove the plastic container containing the filter.

Sometimes the cover of the unit is closed and the filter case cannot be taken out.In such a case, please press the air circulation button of the air conditioner.
When internal air circulation is achieved, the cover opens and the filter case can be taken out.

replace the filter

Remove the filter from the filter case and replace it.

The exchange itself can be done in about 5 minutes if you get used to it.
The pace of getting dirty is relatively fast, so it would be nice to make an opportunity to replace it yourself.
Compared to other replacement parts, the recognition rate is still low, and it is difficult to understand the effect after replacement, but when I see a dirty filter when I replace it, it makes me want to replace it myself.
