Toyota Alphard / Vellfire(20) Cabin Air Filter Replacement

Defining the Standard for Luxury Minivans!?

Hi there.

Today, I’m introducing the 20 series Alphard. The Vellfire can also be serviced using this same procedure.

This follows the popular Toyota replacement method, so it’s a very simple DIY task.

In Japan, the Alphard is arguably the top-tier minivan. Its price tag is also top-tier, though! Because it’s a heavy vehicle, the fuel economy isn’t great, but more than anything, this car is all about ride comfort.

I might have said something similar about the Elgrand before, but this is a car you’d rather be driven in than drive yourself.

Anyway, let’s get into it.

Remove the Glove Box

First, open the glove box.

This car has a damper on the left side, so pull it to the left to disconnect it. Next, push both sides of the glove box inward and pull it toward you. This will release the stoppers at the back—do one side and then the other. Once both sides are free, pull the unit toward you, and the glove box will come right out.

Remove the Cover

After removing the glove box, you’ll see the white filter cover. Simply pinch both sides and pull it toward you to remove it. This part is a breeze!

Replace the Filter

All that’s left is to swap the filter, and you’re done.

For vehicles like this that often carry many passengers, it’s a good idea to change the filter frequently.

You want your passengers to enjoy a comfortable and fresh atmosphere, don’t you?
