How to replace the cabin air filter in the current Jimny

This time I would like to introduce the current Jimny’s air conditioner filter.
The Jimny underwent a model change after 20 years, but it seems to be steadily gaining popularity even after the model change.
This type of car is popular, perhaps due to the popularity of outdoor activities.
God only knows how long it will take for the next model change, but considering the long track record of not changing the model until now, I have a feeling that this model will last a long time.

Now let’s get to the point.

Remove glove box

Jimny/Jimny Sierra (JB#4W) gloveboxIf you follow the instructions in the car’s instruction manual, open the glove box, then push the left and right walls inward and pull it toward the front of you. The hook on the glove box will come off, so all you have to do is keep the glove box slightly horizontal and pull it toward you. If you can remove the fitting part at the bottom of the glove box, you can remove the glove box, but when I tried it, probably because it was a new car, the bottom fitting part was unusually difficult to remove.
If the lower part is difficult to remove, you can remove it by directly removing the part where it is fitted, but it is possible to replace the filter without forcing it out. However, the work space will be a little smaller…
The worst thing you can do is damage it during this kind of work, so please be careful.

Remove filter cover

Replace filter

I think the restoration work will be relatively easy.
Regarding this car, I felt like removing the glove box was a pain.
I think if you repeat it a few times, it will gradually become easier to remove.
Basically, if you work without forcing yourself, you will be able to connect the next time you work.
