Suzuki Escudo(YD / YE) Cabin Air Filter Replacement

Suzuki Escudo(YE) SUZUKI(スズキ)

Tools required: None

Remove the Damper

While pressing down on the male-side protrusion of the left damper, slide the female-side part to the left to detach it.

Open the Glove Box

Push inward on the back right side of the glove box (near the stopper) to release the stopper.

Push inward on the back left side of the glove box (near the stopper) to release the stopper.

If the lower clips of the glove box still do not come loose after the above steps, hold each side of the glove box and pull it toward you to disengage the clips one side at a time. (Replacement is possible even without disengaging the clips.)

Remove the Cover

While pressing inward on the filter cover lock knobs (left and right), pull the cover toward you to remove it.

Replace the filter

Notes
This procedure is for the Suzuki Escudo (YD21S).

The replacement procedure itself is not particularly complicated and is basically the same as a standard replacement method. However, the stopper could not be released simply by pressing both sides of the glove box inward.

Even when removing them one side at a time, the stoppers were fairly difficult to detach, so careful handling is required.

It does not matter which side is removed first, but if you start with the right side, the lower clips may also come loose from the momentum, making the work easier overall.

When reassembling, it is easier to restore everything by reversing the procedure and fitting the left side back first.

The unit was made by DENSO and marked “made in CZ” (Czech Republic). Since the Suzuki S-Cross is also manufactured in the Czech Republic, there may possibly be some connection.
