Daihatsu’s Rocky is a revived car name, but both the first generation and current generation are similar type SUVs with a higher vehicle height.
However, the first generation had a more rugged feel, and the current one has a rather cleaner image. It’s been more than 20 years since the first generation ended, but I still occasionally get to see the first generation. I noticed a small, angular SUV that I was not used to seeing, and it turned out to be the first-generation Rocky.
It is a sibling car to Toyota’s Rise and Subaru Rex, but Rise has a calm image while Rocky has a lively image.
It reminds me of Terios when I think of it from the same manufacturer and in the same lineage, and I remember that Terios also caught on and sold well.

Now let’s get to the point.
You can use the same exchange method for Rise/Rex.

Remove the damper

When you open the glove box, there is a damper on the left side that supports the glove box, so pull the damper to the left to remove it.

Remove the glove box

Remove the stuck parts on both sides of the glove box one by one by pushing the left side of the glove box inward and pulling it toward you. Once the left side is removed, remove the right side in the same way. Then, pull the entire glove box toward you to remove it.

Remove the cover

When you remove the glove box, you will see a white cover. Push the lock on the left side inward and pull it toward you to remove the cover. The right side is inserted into two holes, so when pulling it toward you, pull it slightly to the left to remove it.

Replacing the filter

When you remove the cover, there is a filter, so replace it with a new one.

If you are replacing it for the first time, it may be difficult to remove it because the glove box is hard, but as you get used to it, it will become easier to replace it.
I don’t think replacing it itself is that difficult, so getting the hang of it is the most important factor.
There is no work that requires much force, so please be careful not to use too much force and damage parts or get injured.
