Good evening.
This time, I’d like to show you how to replace the cabin air filter on the Mazda Axela (BL series).
Since it’s the BL series, it’s the generation just before the current model.
Thinking about it that way, the current model is already the third generation.
Personally, it feels like time has gone by pretty quickly.
I also get the impression that the BL series had a slightly shorter production period.
Still, I don’t think it was ever an unpopular model.
Now then, let’s get into the main topic.
First, please take a look at the lower section beneath the glove box.
Next, remove the cover underneath the glove box, which is called the under cover.
You can remove it by pulling down the two handles.
After that, remove the panel located on the right side when viewed from the under cover.
Pull it to the left to release the clips, then pull the section inserted into the blower case toward you to remove it completely.
The filter cover is attached to the back side of the panel you just removed, so first remove the two screws attached to the cover.
Then, while pressing down on the handle located at the top of the filter cover, pull the cover toward you to remove it.
The cover is connected by wiring, so please do not pull on it forcefully.
Replace the filter and the job is done.
There are two filters installed, and they are different shapes, so it’s a good idea to check their orientation and shape when removing them.
It felt a little troublesome for the first time in a while, but once you get used to it, it’s really not a big deal.
Starting with this model, the Axela became a little easier to work on.
That alone impressed me quite a bit.
