Suzuki Alto (37) Replacement Procedure

Tools required: None

Open the Glove Box

While pressing the left side of the glove box inward, pull it toward you to release the stopper.

Repeat the same process on the right side to release the stopper, allowing the glove box to swing downward.

Remove the Filter Cover

While pressing the left-side lock tab of the filter cover inward, pull the cover toward you to remove it.

Replace the filter

This is the replacement procedure for the Suzuki Alto (HA37S).

The replacement process follows the usual pattern for the most part, but since both sides of the glove box are fairly stiff, press on the sides of the glove box while avoiding the areas where the stoppers catch in order to release them more easily.

The filter can be replaced simply by releasing the left and right stoppers and lowering the glove box. There is no need to detach the lower retaining clips of the glove box. Since they are attached quite firmly, there is no reason to force them off.

The filter cover is white in color. The right side functions as a guide that inserts into the unit. There are also two guides at the bottom that support the filter.

The unit itself is also white.

The filter is a standard layered-type filter.

As for the vehicle itself, it does not have any especially unique characteristics, but compared to the previous model, the styling feels cleaner and more refined. It also gives a cuter impression than the previous generation.

The previous model’s Suzuki Alto Works gained a niche but enthusiastic following, so there are expectations in that regard as well. A new Works version of this model will likely appear eventually.

Additionally, a hybrid model has been added to the Suzuki Alto lineup starting with this generation. However, compared to the standard gasoline model, the difference in fuel economy is not particularly large. Since the car already has excellent fuel efficiency to begin with, switching to a hybrid may not produce a dramatic improvement.
