Hi there.
Today, I’ll show you how to replace the cabin air filter on the Nissan Skyline (V37 series), a car with a long and storied history. This procedure also applies to the Hybrid model.
The current V37 series features the Infiniti badge on the grille, giving it a different, more premium atmosphere than previous generations.
While the market has shifted and sedans like the Skyline don’t sell as much as they used to, its presence on the road is still undeniable.
In the past, Skyline owners were often enthusiasts who loved tuning their cars. I wonder if that’s still the case now that it has become such a high-end luxury vehicle.
Perhaps many current owners are people who used to love working on cars back in the day.
Well, that’s just my guess!
Now, let’s get into the main topic.

First, open the glove box.
Hold one side of the glove box and pull it toward you to release the clips at the bottom.
Once one side is disconnected, do the same for the other side.

There is a damper attached to the upper left back of the glove box. Pull it to the left to disconnect it, and the glove box will be completely free.

Pull the black panel in front toward you to remove it (it’s held by 5 tabs).

Once the black panel is removed, you’ll see a white cover. Pull the left side toward you and slide the right side out to remove it.

Now, just swap out the filter.
Nissan vehicles often have a reputation for requiring tools for almost everything, but this model allows for a tool-less replacement. In that sense, it feels like a big step forward.
That said, I still think they could have made it a bit simpler.
One thing I noticed during the process was that reinstalling the glove box was surprisingly tricky. It didn’t sit right very easily.
In many cars with this type of setup, you would typically set the bottom hinges first and then just push the stoppers into place. However, for this car:
Hook the stoppers first → Then set the bottom hinges.
I found that I couldn’t get it to sit correctly unless I followed this specific order.
It’s a bit difficult to line up the bottom hinges after hooking the stoppers, though.
Even if you follow this method, sometimes the glove box might not close properly. If that happens, it means the bottom hinges aren’t fully seated. With the glove box slightly open, give the whole unit a light push downward. You should hear a satisfying “thump” or “click,” and then the glove box will close perfectly.
