50 series Prius cabin air filter
I also looked at the air conditioner filter for the Prius (50 series) that I test drove the other day, so I would like to introduce it to you.
These days, we use air conditioners regardless of the season, and the air outside is also filled with extremely small particles suspended in the air, known as PM2.5.
Until recently, it was talked about during pollen season, but I would like to keep an eye on it throughout the year.
Now let’s get down to business.
Remove the damper
Remove the damper on the left side of the glove box by pulling it to the left.
The damper is attached a little hard, so be careful not to damage the damper itself or injure your hands from the force of removing it.
Remove glove box
If you push the left side of the glove box inward and bring it toward you, the hook part of the glove box will come off, so if you do the same thing on the right side , you can open the glove box all the way to the bottom. The word “PUSH”
is kindly written on the side of the glove box, so it’s a good idea to press that part.
Once the bottom is opened, pull the entire glove box toward you to remove the lower part of the glove box.
The filter can be replaced without removing the bottom part of the glove box.
Remove the cover
After performing the above steps, you will see a white cover.
If you hold the clip-like part on the left side and bring it toward you, the left side will come off.
The right side is inserted into the blower case, so pull it to the left to remove it.
Remove the filter from the filter case
Surprisingly, this time it came with a filter case.
Hmm, recently the air conditioner filter was often stored directly in the blower case, but in this Prius, the filter was stored in the filter case.
It’s rare.
It felt like it had returned to its previous form.
Since it came with a filter case, there was one extra step, but the replacement method is basically the same as before, so once you get used to it, there won’t be any problems.
Did they start using filter cases again to maintain the shape of the filter?
