Civic (2017.9- ) Cabin Air Filter replacement

Civic cabin air filter(right hand drive)

It is a Civic that revived after more than seven years in Japan.
As was the case with the previous model, there was a section where it was already upscaled and the name “Civic” might not be appropriate, but aside from that, it became a pretty cool model and revived.

It may be minor as a route, but there are also talks of minor model changes and it is not necessarily unpopular, but there are no hybrids in the lineup, etc. Maybe.

If you were selling a new car as you did in the past, it might have sold more if you were selling it.
Personally, if you have a little extra time, it may have been a car you want.

Today I would like to introduce the Civic cabin air filter.

Remove the damper

The damper was on the right side.
I think it’s unusual for a Honda car.
But the way to remove is the same as the car with the damper on the left side, push the damper to the back and remove.
I think it can be easily removed.

Remove glove box

gloveboxThe glove box is a pattern that pushes both sides and removes the claws, but it was a little hard.
If you press only the right side and remove the claws, the glove box may come off with that momentum.
Be careful not to break it if it comes off with momentum.

Remove the filter cover

coverWhen you remove the glove box, you can see that there is something like a black lid.
Since both sides of the lid are locked, you can remove the lid by pushing the lock parts on both sides inward and pulling it toward you.

Replace filter

filterRemove the lid and the filter will come out.
The rest is OK if you replace it.

It was pretty easy until I changed the filter, but the restoration work was a little troublesome.
The damper was telescopic and it was a bit difficult to install.
After installing the glove box, I attach the damper, but it is difficult to install it as it seems to be a space narrower than the damper on the left side.
I wonder why the damper was attached to the right side.

If the Civic was released in September 2017, this replacement method is OK.
The filters are all the same.
